ABOUT

Jan Lupton. Principal, ASID

Jan grew up in New York surrounded by the arts. Her father was a textile designer
and her mother was an artist. Jan developed a passion for color, textiles and antique
furnishings and she went on to pursue these interests, graduating with a degree in
Interior Design from Endicott College.

Jan began her 35 year interior design career in New York City before moving to
Washington DC where she joined C. Dudley Brown and Associates and expanded
her practice of fine traditional interior design in both residential and commercial
projects. Jan’s interest in historic interiors has been further enhanced by the
study of the English country house and collections through the Attingham Trust
in England and Ireland. She also pursued her interest in the design of classical
architecture, fine arts and decorative arts studying in Italy with the Center for
Palladian Studies.

Jan started Lupton Interiors in 2009. Lupton Interiors believes that a home should
reflect the personality and interests of its owners. We seek to enhance interior
spaces using the best materials possible to suit the individuals’ needs and budget.
We edit selections to customize each project and bring our knowledge of design;
proportions, color and sustainability to service our clients job requirements.

Jan is a member of the Washington Metro Chapter of ASID. She has had design
projects in Maine, Connecticut, Maryland, Virginia, Ohio, Florida, Washington DC and
